International Day of the Girl Child 2021
Abia State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Dr. Lady Ngozi Okechukwu said the Girl Child is important in every family and social development of any society. Dr. Okechukwu stated this through Mr. Kingsley Igwe during a sensitization programme packaged by Inspire Hope Foundation, a US based non for profit in collaborated with Initiative for Rural Revival and Enlightenment (IRRE ) and National Orientation Agency (NOA) Abia State to commemorate the 2021 International Day of The Girl Child held at Holy Rosary Girls Secondary School Umuahia.

The theme for the Year's International Day of the Girl-Child, "Digital Generation; Our Generation"
This informs the need to empower every girl-child with today’s necessary digital knowledge for exploits.
They pointed out that every girl child has the right to achieve what she desires, especially in this digital age and called on civil society leaders including relevant stakeholders in their campaign to harp more on gender equality for every girl child.
Responding, the Vice Principal of Holy Rosary Girls Secondary school, Umuahia, Mr Sunday Nwagboso, expressed gratitude to NOA, Initiative for Rural Revival and Enlightenment (IRRE ) and Inspire Hope Foundation for finding their school worthy to receive the lectures.
However, the lectures gave the students opportunities to ask questions and also received explanations.
Highpoint of the event was presentation of gifts to more than sixty students present.
